Invitation to Online Lecture: Storytelling as an Academic Tool to Advance Educational Transformation

Matej Bel University invites you to an inspiring online lecture by Dr. Palina Louangketh, founder and Executive Director of the Idaho Museum of International Diaspora (USA). This event is organized as part of our international collaboration in the field of service learning and global civic education.

 

What is the lecture about?

Storytelling is a powerful tool in education. Dr. Louangketh will explore how storytelling can be used not only to share knowledge but also to build human connection, link history to the present, and foster meaningful engagement among learners. Real-life stories and academic insights will demonstrate how storytelling can lead to positive learning outcomes and educational transformation.

 

About the speaker

Dr. Palina Louangketh is a former refugee from Laos. Her family's journey to the United States shaped her vision of honoring the human journey on a global scale. She holds a Doctor of Strategic Leadership from Regent University (USA) and teaches at Boise State University in the University Foundations Program and the School of Public and Population Health. She designed the Global Diaspora Curriculum, which has since gained international recognition and was launched in Slovakia in 2023.
